BackerKit Survey Reminder & Production Status Update

Hi all,

Thank you to everyone (that is 86% off all backers – whoop whoop!), who already filled out their BackerKit Survey. If you haven't done so yet, please try and fill it out at your earliest convenience so you can choose your preferred colour, select your add-on products and provide us with your shipping address.

PRODUCTION UPDATE

We also have some great news to share with you: our production preparation is going according to plan and all materials are set to arrive with our manufacturer on their scheduled dates in December. Production will then take place throughout January. Our Co-Founder Fabian will be present at the factory to ensure everything will run smoothly. 

You will continue to receive updates from us on a regular basis informing you about the current status of the production run.

Fulfilment surveys will be coming soon and this is what you need to know

Hi everyone,

Our official Kickstarter fulfilment survey will be sent out over the next 72 hours via BackerKit. It will be sent to the email address associated with your Kickstarter account. The subject line will say: "Response Needed -- Get your reward for The WAYKS ONE: A sustainable & transformable Travel Backpack"

You will be asked for the following information:

• Your colour choice
• Your add-on products
• Your shipping address

Through the survey, you are able to pre-order additional backpacks or accessories, and pay for them via credit card or Paypal. These are offered at exclusive discounts only to you as our Kickstarter backers. In case you want to gift your WAYKS ONE to someone, e.g. for Christmas, you can also order gift cards free of charge.

If any questions come up with regard to accessing or submitting your survey, please take a look at the following FAQ. If you are still stuck, please email [email protected] and let them know you are enquiring about the WAYKS survey.

FAQ

WHEN WILL MY REWARDS SHIP?

So far, everything is running according to plan, therefore, March 2019 is still our scheduled shipment date for all rewards. We will update you regularly on our progress, especially if anything happens that might affect our timeline.

WHAT IS BACKERKIT?

BackerKit is a service that many Kickstarter creators use to make sure their fulfilment goes smooth. It collects all critical information through an easy-to-use survey. BackerKit also gives you the chance to take advantage of our exclusive Kickstarter discounts for a limited time after the Kickstarter campaign has finished.

I CANNOT FIND MY SURVEY. WHAT CAN I DO?

1. Wait until Monday night as it may take some time for all surveys to reach their recipients' inboxes.

2. Go to https://wayks.backerkit.com/ and type in your email address associated with your Kickstarter account to retrieve your survey.

3. You might have checked the wrong email account. The survey is sent to the email address that is associated with your Kickstarter profile (or the one you used when backing as a guest). You can see your Kickstarter email after you log in, click on the profile icon in the top right corner, and then go to Settings - Account. If you have logged into Kickstarter via Facebook, it would be the email address of your Facebook account.

4. Search your inbox, SPAM, and promotions folder for "Response needed"

5. If after trying the above you still cannot access your survey, please go to https://wayks.backerkit.com, then click the FAQ link, and then the contact button.

HOW DOES IT WORK WITH THE ADD-ONS, E.G. MAT STRAP, RAIN COVER, ETC.?

Your BackerKit survey will already contain the information, which pledge level you had chosen and how much you have paid to Kickstarter. If you have pledged more than the value of your reward plus shipping, a "credit remaining" will be displayed on the right side after you proceed to the add-on screen of your survey. 

Go ahead and add all the add-ons you would like to have. If you add more than you have credit for, you can pay for the remainder by credit card or Paypal through the BackerKit survey. Please note that these additional amounts will not be charged immediately, but only after we "lock" the survey and decide to process the payment. In the meantime you can still make changes to your survey, and we will notify you before we process those payments.

I WILL BE MOVING SOON. WHICH ADDRESS SHALL I ENTER?

If you do not know yet, where you will be living in March, we recommend not to fill out your shipping address yet. We will lock the shipping address closer to the shipment date and will send reminders before. However, until then it is always possible to update your shipping address through BackerKit.

CAN I CHANGE MY SURVEY REPLIES AFTER SUBMITTING THEM?

Yes, until the survey is "locked" by us, you can change your colour selection and add-ons. We will send a reminder a few days before we lock it. After this, no changes are possible - except for the shipping address, which will be locked closer to our shipping dates.

MY KICKSTARTER PAYMENT FAILED AND I WAS DROPPED OFF THE PROJECT. WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS?

There is still a chance for you to get the WAYKS ONE at the Kickstarter discount as it is possible to fix the payment through BackerKit. The BackerKit survey will be emailed to you and your pledge will show up as EUR 0. You can then go ahead and add items and pay for them through BackerKit.

Hi everyone,

Thanks to your support the WAYKS ONE will be brought to life! We are humbled by the trust you show in us and will work thoroughly to get the products to you as soon as possible. Thank you so much for making this happen!

What happens next?

For many of you it is the first time supporting a Kickstarter project, so we want to describe the process in some detail:

1. Kickstarter processes your payment

By the time you are reading this, Kickstarter might have already charged your credit card or bank account. If your payment fails for any reason, Kickstarter will email you and remind you every 48h with a link to correct the issue. If the payment does not process within 7 days, Kickstarter will cancel your order – which would break our hearts ;).

2. Kickstarter sends the funds to WAYKS

After the project has finished, it takes Kickstarter up to 14 days to transfer the collected funds to us. These funds are then at our disposal to pay for our production and fulfilment. 

3. We send you a survey through BackerKit

BackerKit is a tool that helps Kickstarter creators to manage their fulfilment to ensure you get the correct reward to the correct address.

The survey you will receive 
a) prompts you to pick the colour for your WAYKS ONE,
b) enables you to add accessories (your pledged amount will show up as credit, and you can also add more accessories and pay for those directly through BackerKit), and
c) asks you for your shipping details

We intend to send you the BackerKit survey in October, latest in early November. It would be great if you could submit your survey responses soon after – this helps a lot with our fulfilment preparations. 

You as our Kickstarter backers will also have the exclusive opportunity to pre-order additional WAYKS ONE backpacks and accessories through Backerkit at Kickstarter prices. 

In case you are thinking of gifting the WAYKS ONE to someone for Christmas: Through BackerKit we will offer Christmas Gift Cards free of charge so that your loved ones will have something to unwrap on Christmas Day and can get excited about their March delivery.

4. We go into production and fulfilment

Our order with our manufacturer is already placed. We expect all of our materials to arrive at the factory by end of December and production to finish by end of January. Our container should then travel the oceans to Germany in February, so that rewards can be shipped out in March.

You might have some questions:

At which email address will I be contacted?

Kickstarter, Backerkit and WAYKS will contact you at the same email address you use for your Kickstarter account – or which you used to pledge on Kickstarter as a guest. If you logged into Kickstarter through Facebook, the emails will be sent to the email address of your Facebook account.

If you do not have a Kickstarter account yet or did not use your primary email address, this may be a good moment to change this, however, it is not a necessity.

Can I change my colour or shipping address later?

Yes, up to a certain point. At some point, probably within this year, we will have to "lock orders" in the BackerKit survey to make sure we can honour all colour preferences and collect the funds for additional pre-orders. You will get a reminder before that happens.

With regard to your shipping address, we will lock this only closer to our shipping date. So you will have plenty of time to update this in case you move in the next few months. We will also send a reminder before we lock the shipping addresses.

What if friends want to get the WAYKS ONE, too?

To enable more people to get the WAYKS ONE we have set up a possibility to pre-order them through "Indiegogo In Demand". This is a common way for successful Kickstarter projects to continue taking pre-orders after their project has finished. Please note that the pre-order discounts on Indiegogo In Demand will be lower. The Kickstarter discounts are exclusive to you.

Colour survey results. Order with manufacturer placed

Hi everyone,

In the last update, we asked you to let us know, which colour you intend to pick for your WAYKS ONE, and we got lots of replies to our preliminary survey.

These are the results:

• Black: 50%
• Sand colour: 39%
• Not sure yet: 11%

Thanks a lot for all your feedback - this helped us to already place the order with our manufacturer last week. This will give us a little extra buffer during the production time line and will help ensure that the bags will be with you as soon as possible.

Some more news:

1. We have now reached over 300% of our funding goal and have less than 48h to go. If you feel our project is worth sharing with your friends, please do so. This can make a massive difference to the outcome of our campaign. Thank you!

We have already reached over 260% of our funding goal – and there are still 10 days to go. Thank you so much for your support!

We soon want to place our order with our manufacturer to get your rewards to you as quickly as possible.
